£150 raised for The Good Shepherd

Our annual Carol Concert, held at St Chad’s church in Sedgley managed to raise £150 because of the hard work of our students. Below is a letter received from the charity for the students and staff involved in the effort.

Dear staff and pupils at Bishop Milner

I am writing to say thank you for your kind donation of £150 which you have sent to The Good shepherd in Wolverhampton from your recent carol service. We are grateful for your support in the work we do offering meals, advice and assistance to many individuals and families who are struggling from financial hardship.

Good shepherd is developing the services which we have available and is focusing on the areas of support which will strengthen and enhance what Wolverhampton has on offer. We support individuals to access suitable accommodation, move towards employment, access training or education and develop skills to build self-reliance and resilience.  Offering homeless individuals and rough sleeper’s intensive 1-1 support as well as practical support including showers, laundry facilities, clean clothes and a postal address will improve well-being and give them the structure and stability needed.  We want to give those who use our services a better quality of life with a new focus and direction to bring positive change.
