Our open evenings have been advertised as Thursday 17 September and Thursday 24 September 2020.
We recognise that there are a significant number of schools in the Dudley Borough who are offering open evenings for parents over the course of the next month.
Since Monday 7 September we have been liaising with both the Local Authority and Public Health England on the viability of open evenings continuing. Following these discussions and the subsequent announcement by the Government regarding the changing of social gathering rules, we feel it would be irresponsible and an unnecessary risk for our prospective parents / students and their local communities. We recognise that within the new guidelines schools are exempt, however each year at Bishop Milner Catholic College due to our popularity we have visits from approximately 300 families who reside across the boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton.
We have therefore taken the decision to cancel our scheduled open evenings. We realise this will be disappointing for prospective parents and students, however the college will be releasing a virtual tour in the next two weeks. This will allow both parents and students to see our campus, meet key staff and see our wonderful students in their learning environment. If circumstances change we will endeavour to provide every opportunity for parents and students to visit our college.
We hope you can appreciate the difficult decision that has been taken. Please regularly check our website, Facebook and Twitter pages for further updates.
