BMCS Girls School Uniform (Y7-11)

  • Black Blazer with School Badge sewn on.
  • Red and White Striped Blouse (AVAILABLE from A Oakes and Totally Uniform) to be worn entirely tucked into skirt/trousers.
  • Girls School Tie (ONLY obtainable from school).
  • Pleated Harrow Grey stitched down Trutex skirt (code GPB HGY) or Bootcut Harrow grey Trutex trousers (code GTB HGY) from September 2011 all year groups must wear these designated Trutex skirt/trousers
  • Socks OR Tights must be worn (NOT both). Socks must be plain white, black or grey and ankle length. Tights must be plain shades of tan or black.
  • Shoes (ending BELOW the ankle) MUST be black and low-heeled and of normal school pattern. All footwear must fit securely and give proper support to the feet to meet our Health and Safety requirements. BOOTS, TRAINERS, SANDALS or SLINGBACKS NOT ALLOWED.
  • NO hoodies, NO jewellery. NO badges (other than prefect badges or others approved by the school) may be worn. NO nail varnish. NO false nails. NO make-up to be worn by students in Key Stage 3. Key Stage 4 students may wear discrete make-up which is acceptable to the school. Girls can wear one pair of studs in their earlobes. Students who wear a small cross and chain under their blouse must remove this for P.E.
  • Conventional hairstyle which in its length, colour and style is acceptable to the school. No eyebrow slits no grade 1s, no shavings, no lines, no outlandish colourings, no hair extensions. Any hair accessories must be plain black.

Optional additional items:

  • A plain white round-necked T-shirt may be worn underneath the blouse for warmth in cold weather.
  • Grey v-neck jumper with school name embroidered.
  • Outdoor coat / jacket must be plain black (not leather, denim or corduroy). NOT to be worn inside classrooms.
  • Plain black scarves, gloves.
  • Football scarves, football hats and baseball caps NOT ALLOWED.
  • School bags must be plain in colour, preferably black.

BMCS Boys School Uniform (Y7-11)

  • Black Blazer with School Badge sewn on.
  • Plain White Shirt (No motifs or other patterns) to be worn entirely tucked into trousers.
  • Boys School Tie (ONLY obtainable from School)
  • Grey Trutex trousers (code TBT GRY). Canvas or cord material NOT ALLOWED.
  • Socks must be plain white, black or grey.
  • Shoes (ending BELOW the ankle) MUST be black and low-heeled and of normal school pattern. All footwear must fit securely and give proper support to the feet to meet our Health and Safety requirements BOOTS, TRAINERS or SANDALS NOT ALLOWED.

BMCS Boys & Girls PE Uniform (Y7-11)

  • Plain red polo shirt *
  • Plain black sports shoes, that do not mark the floor *
  • Plain red knee- length football -type socks
  • Plain red school sweatshirt with school name embroidered
  • Plain black tracksuit trousers*
  • Training shoes
  • Shin pads
  • Mouth guard - Advice will be given by PE staff as to when these are required
  • Football boots - Advice will be given by PE staff as to when these are required
  • Towel - Following physical exertion in PE lessons, our expectation is that ALL students will make use of our shower facilities for a full or partial shower as appropriate to ensure high standards of personal hygiene.

Appropriate PE Kit

  • Before each unit students will be advised as to the appropriate kit needed for that particular activity.
  • Activity, facilities and environmental conditions will determine the choice of appropriate kit.
  • All items of kit must be named.
  • Failure to bring full correct kit, including any missing items of kit, will be recorded in the student Planner. The student will receive 1 warning then further offences will result in departmental detentions of 20 minutes being issued, 10 minutes will be added for each further offence.
  • Hockey is covered from Year 7 and national guidelines recommend the wearing of personalised mouth guards and shin pads. Woollen gloves can be worn in cold weather, no hats.
  • Football is covered as a curricular activity in both keystages and throughout the school in extra-curricular time. When participating students must wear shin pads; football boots are only required when using the football pitches adjacent to the school. Trainers are always worn for football sessions on our All Weather Surface.
  • At the end of the school day students must leave the campus in full school uniform. Where a student participates in an extra curricular PE activity the student may be dismissed in PE uniform.
  • For GCSE PE students, failure to bring theory folder to lesson or hand in homework will be treated in the same way as 'no kit' offences.
