On Friday 15 June, a group of Year 12 students visited Newman University for the culmination of the Academic Enrichment Programme. Students have been working after college with teaching staff during this academic year, undertaking studies in their chosen subject pitched at undergraduate level to help prepare them for life after Sixth Form. During the year, students on the programme have also been working with outreach staff from Newman University looking at the benefits of university and receiving guidance with regard to their future pathways. At the final session which took place at Newman, our students took part in several fun and interactive sessions including a mock Criminology lecture. At the end of the day students took part in a graduation ceremony prior to returning to college and received certificates that they can include in their portfolios as they begin to actively research their Post 18 options. We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of Year 12 students onto the programme in September.
