BMCC Girls College Uniform (Y7-11)

BMCC GIRLS COLLEGE UNIFORM YEARS 7 -11

  • Black Blazer with College Badge sewn on.
  • Red and White Striped Blouse (AVAILABLE from A Oakes and Totally Uniform) to be worn entirely tucked into skirt/trousers.
  • Girls College tie appropriate to the house allocated.
  • Pleated graphite grey stitched down Trutex skirt MUST be worn to the knee

  • Black opaque tights MUST be worn with skirts from Sept – April, Natural or black opaque tights MUST be worn from May – July. NO patterned tights are allowed.   Socks MUST only be worn with trousers and MUST be black or grey, ankle length (NO trainer socks) and plain in design and colour.
  • Shoes (ending BELOW the ankle) MUST be black and low-heeled and of normal college pattern.  All footwear must fit securely and give proper support to the feet to meet our Health and Safety requirements. BOOTS, SANDALS, SLINGBACKS, PLATFORMS AND FLATFORMS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
  • No leather trainers or leisure shoes are permitted including brands such as Vans, Converse or other sports brands
  • NO hoodies, NO jewellery, NO spacers or retainers, NO badges (other than Student Leader badges or others approved by the college) may be worn. NO nail varnish.  NO false nails. NO make-up to be worn by students in Key Stage 3.  Key Stage 4 students ONLY may wear discrete make-up which is acceptable to the college.  Girls can wear one pair of small studs in their earlobes. Students who wear a small cross and chain under their blouse must remove this for P.E.
  • Conventional hairstyle which in its length, one natural colour and style is acceptable to the college. No eyebrow slits no grade 1s, no shavings, no lines, no outlandish colourings, no hair extensions, no extreme partings or extreme variations in length.  Any hair accessories must be plain black.

BMCC Boys College Uniform (Y7-11)

BMCC BOYS COLLEGE UNIFORM YEARS 7 -11

  • Black blazer with College badge sewn on.
  • Plain white shirt (no motifs or other patterns) to be worn entirely tucked into trousers.
  • Boys College tie appropriate to the house allocated.
  • Graphite grey Trutex trousers. Canvas or cord material NOT ALLOWED.
  • Shoes (ending BELOW the ankle) MUST be black and low-heeled and of normal college pattern.  All footwear must fit securely and give proper support to the feet to meet our Health and Safety requirements BOOTS or SANDALS NOT ALLOWED.
  • No leather trainers or leisure shoes are permitted including brands such as Vans, Converse or other sports brands

Optional additional uniform items:-

  • A plain white round necked T-shirt may be worn underneath the shirt for warmth in cold weather
  • Grey v-neck jumper with College name embroidered.
  • Outdoor coat/jacket must be plain black, grey or navy (not leather, denim or corduroy). NOT to be worn inside classrooms
  • Plain black scarves, gloves.
  • Football scarves, football hats and baseball caps NOT ALLOWED.

DURING NON UNIFORM DAYS RULES REGARDING JEWELLERY, HAIR AND MAKE UP REMAIN IN PLACE.

Also can a reminder go out to all staff and parents on the requirement for girls to wear tights at all times with a skirt and remind black opaque tights until the end of April.

 

BMCC Boys & Girls PE Uniform (Y7-11)

  • Red Bishop Milner dry-fit polo shirt with logo
  • Sports trainers, not fashion pumps or high-tops
  • Red knee-length football-type socks.
  • Red Bishop Milner sports fleece.
  • Black Bishop Milner tracksuit trousers – not leggings
  • Black Bishop Milner sports shorts
  • Shin pads
  • Black or Red under-armour thermal garments may also be worn dependent upon weather conditions
  • Mouth guard – Advice will be given by PE staff as to when these are required
  • Football boots – Advice will be given by PE staff as to when these are required
  • Towel – Advice will be given by PE staff as to when this is required

Appropriate PE Kit

  • Bishop Milner Catholic College new Key Stage 3 PE kit with effect from September 2013; made from a modern dry fit material.
  • Before each unit students will be advised as to the appropriate kit needed for that particular activity.
  • Activity, facilities and environmental conditions will determine the choice of appropriate kit.
  • All items of kit must be named.
  • Failure to bring full correct kit, including any missing items of kit, will be recorded in the student Planner. The student will receive 1 warning then further offences will result in departmental detentions of 20 minutes being issued, 10 minutes will be added for each further offence.
  • Hockey is covered from Year 7 and national guidelines recommend the wearing of personalised mouth guards and shin pads. Woollen gloves can be worn in cold weather, no hats.
  • Football is covered as a curricular activity in both keystages and throughout the college in extra-curricular time. When participating students must wear shin pads; football boots are only required when using the football pitches adjacent to the college. Trainers are always worn for football sessions on our All Weather Surface.
  • At the end of the school day students must leave the campus in full uniform. Where a student participates in an extra curricular PE activity the student may be dismissed in PE uniform.
  • For GCSE PE students, failure to bring theory folder to lesson or hand in homework will be treated in the same way as ‘no kit’ offences.
