Wellbeing

At Bishop Milner Catholic College, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students and staff. We know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play. We aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing of every member of our college community and recognise how important mental health and wellbeing is to our lives, as is physical health. We recognise that children’s mental health and overall wellbeing can affect their learning and achievement.

All staff receive training on promoting positive mental health and we have a counsellor, Mrs K Harding who is based in college. In addition, we can access the Reflexions Team who work in college to provide counselling and support. We can signpost you or make referrals on your behalf to Here4Youth as well as our school nurse and the What Centre.

All students have access to Kooth.com and advice and support is displayed around the college and on the plasma screens. All students and their families are encouraged to contact a member of the Safeguarding Team if they would further information.
